During my freshman year of college, along with adjusting to dorm-life and learning a new class schedule, I was discovering the new social media technology, Facebook. Now this was back in the day when Facebook was a college networking site, leaving parents to check in on their newly long-distanced children with a simple phone call.
Today, the lines have blurred and Facebook has become the great equalizer. People of all ages join the site to track friends, send photos, and keep in touch with family. But along with popularity comes safety concerns over privacy settings. Moms wonder if they should put their kids’ pictures on Facebook. And just who, exactly, do you want reviewing your current relationship status?
If you’re new to the site, or even if you just haven’t looked into the security options available on Facebook (and other social media networks for that matter), maybe now’s the time you did. Safeguarding your identity and protecting your family: I like that!
As always, the AG website offers news and information to keep you ahead of the online curve.
