Consumers who purchased an item from Wenatchee based company SuddenValues.com between November 1, 2010 and July 31, 2015 may be eligible for a refund.
Earlier this month, U.S. Online.com, Inc. (parent company of SuddenValues.com) reached a settlement agreement with our office after the Attorney General filed a lawsuit against U.S. Online.com, Inc. alleging, among other things, violations of the Washington state Consumer Protection Act and violations of the federal CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.
Our office opened an investigation into U.S. Online, Inc. after receiving multiple complaints from consumers who stated that they had not received items they had ordered, had not been provided refunds, and/or had been unable to unsubscribe from unwanted promotional emails.
As part of the settlement, $12,500 has been set aside for affected consumers.
Per the settlement, consumers who may be eligible for refunds from SuddenValues.com will receive notice via email no later than August 1, 2015. Additionally, consumers who believe they may be eligible for a refund may contact our office between August 1, 2015 and September 30, 2015.
