- Staff from the state Department of Labor & Industries will be at the Tacoma Home and Garden Show from Jan. 27-31 to provide information and assistance to consumers about what they need to know when hiring a contractor.
- Nonprofit and charitable organizations can learn about registration and reporting requirements during a free workshop from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Bellevue Library. The training is provided by the Secretary of State’s Office and Department of Revenue.
- Jan. 28, 2010, is Data Privacy Day. A panel discussion titled “Surveillance Art: You Are Being Watched,” will take place at the University of Washington School of Law, Gates Hall, from 12:30-1:30 Thursday. The event is co-sponsored by the law school’s Advocates for the Arts, Law, Technology and Arts Group, Technology Law Society and ACLU Chapter.
