Feelings of embarrassment keep many fraud victims from ever coming forward. However, cons will continue to prey on unsuspecting victims as long as there are people who have yet to hear the warnings. Your story could help others from being scammed.
If you’re the victim of identity theft or have lost money to a wire transfer, fake check or mortgage scam, let us know. The Attorney General’s Office is looking to include stories about real people in upcoming outreach campaigns. It’s up to you whether you want to include your name. Also, reporters sometimes ask us to help them find people willing to be interviewed for a consumer education news story. If you’re willing to participate in such an interview, let us know.
