There is now new content here on our AGO website regarding foreclosure! The new Web page provides tips on what to do when facing foreclosure, a warning about foreclosure rescue scams and information about how the AGO is addressing these issues.
The Consumer Protection Division of the AGO has been instrumental in making this material available to consumers. This fall, the Consumer Protection Division will be sending out an official letter to homeowners facing foreclosure warning them about foreclosure rescue scams.
Recently, the Department of Financial Institutions and the state Housing Finance Commission kicked off the Washington Homeownership Information Hotline and Counseling Program. This program offers free state-sponsored counseling. Information is available online or by calling the hotline: 1-877-894-HOME (4663).
