McKenna joins credit unions at statewide shredathon on Oct. 20th

So many free shred events this month! Tomorrow, October 20th, Attorney General Rob McKenna will join Washington’s credit unions in a statewide effort to reduce identity theft. More than 20 credit unions will have large commercial shred trucks onsite to collect and destroy sensitive documents. AG McKenna will greet folks at Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union, 500 S. Michigan St. in Georgetown from 10-11 a.m. 

Shredding sensitive information prevents thieves from rifling through your garbage and stealing your identity. Bring bank statements, utility bills, cancelled checks or anything that has personal information on it to a free event in your area.
