The words "Made in China" on a bag of Halloween treats may cause a worse fright this season than any trick. Fears about the toxic chemical compound melamine, at the center of China's tainted milk scandal, have many parents understandably concerned. That doesn’t meet you or little one shouldn’t enjoy seasonal sweets, but it’s always a good idea to give your little pumpkin’s loot an inspection.
The FDA is warning consumers not to consume White Rabbit candy, in addition to several other products. The candy was distributed to retail stores in Washington prior to its recall last month. Also on the edible item recall list: Koala’s March cookies, distributed nationwide, and several Cadbury chocolates that were only sold overseas. Keep up with product recalls at www.recalls.gov
