OLYMPIA…The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit today issued an opinion in Costco Wholesale Corporation’s antitrust lawsuit challenging nine specific restraints on the sale and distribution of beer and wine in Washington.
OLYMPIA – Attorney General Rob McKenna announced today that Washington will sign on to an amicus brief to support the commercial fishermen, seafood processors, tribes and others whose lives were impacted by the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill.
OLYMPIA – Five bills requested by Attorney General Rob McKenna are scheduled for public hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The bills would help keep cell phone numbers private, make it a crime to view child pornography, allow non-commissioned police personnel to assist in child pornography investigations, remove the limit on ethics board penalties and costs and protect consumers from spyware.
Attorney General Rob McKenna this week joined state and local attorneys across the nation in a letter urging the federal Environmental Protection Agency to exercise its authority to protect the environment from greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.
SEATTLE – Washington auto dealers, beware. The Attorney General’s Office today announced its third settlement in recent months involving car advertisements and says it is seeing an increase in out-of-state firms marketing new and used cars for local dealerships who don’t understand state laws.

OLYMPIA – Four bills requested by Attorney General Rob McKenna to protect Washington consumers have bipartisan support and will be heard early this week by members of the state House of Representatives. “We’re asking for laws that would give prosecutors and victims new tools to fight identity theft, prevent homeowners facing foreclosure from falling prey to cons and allow the Attorney General’s Office to continue punishing spyware purveyors,” McKenna said.
