Other LanguagesAn Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner may, when consistent with his or her professional license, lawfully furnish or prescribe a drug to a woman for the purpose of inducing an abortion where the drug may lawfully be prescribed and the woman seeks to terminate her pregnancy before the fetus is viable or for the purpose of preserving the woman’s life or health
(1) A person who is certificated as a school nurse by the state board of education under the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 18-84-075 through 090, but who does not hold a certificate which will entitle her to be assigned to a teaching position as a certified teacher, is not a "certificated employee" for the purposes of chapter 143, Laws of 1965.(2) A school nurse, who is not employed in a supervisory capacity for a school district, and is not employed as a teacher, is not covered by the provisions of RCW 28.58.450 or RCW 28.67.070.
(1) It is legally permissible for a registered nurse, licensed in the State of Washington, to execute medical orders, including those for the administration of legend drugs and certain controlled substances, issued by a physician's assistant licensed under chapter 18.71A RCW before such orders are countersigned by the supervising physician.
(2) General discussion of the power of the State Board of Nursing to adopt a regulation concerning the authority of licensed registered nurses to execute such medical orders of a physician's assistant.
Licensed practical nurses may not administer drugs or medications, either orally or by injection, to patients under their supervision or care.
The act regulating the practice of physical therapy, chapter 18.74 RCW, does not exempt masseurs from the prohibitions contained therein nor are they exempt from similar prohibitions found in acts regulating other branches of practice within the healing arts.
