An Island County jury on Thursday decided not to release a sexually violent predator after prosecutors from the Attorney General’s Office proved that he remains both mentally ill and a danger to the community.
Two individuals and a corporation pled guilty today in Spokane County Superior Court to multiple violations of the Washington Clean Air Act. Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed the criminal charges in May, over the defendants’ illegal handling of hazardous asbestos.
“My office is conducting an investigation into serious allegations against WAFLA.  Rather than cooperate with our subpoena, WAFLA chose to impede our investigation and challenge the basis of our demand for information in court.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s office prevailed at trial late Thursday, when a Pierce County jury refused to release sexually violent predator Charles Urlacher from the state’s Special Commitment Center (SCC) on McNeil Island.

OLYMPIA — The Attorney General’s Office today announced the filing of a complaint in Thurston County Superior Court alleging campaign finance violations by Secretary of State Kim Wyman and her campaign, Citizens for Kim Wyman. The complaint alleges the Wyman campaign failed to timely file contribution and expenditure disclosure reports, as required under the state’s campaign finance laws. It also alleges that the campaign failed to timely deposit contributions.
