OLYMPIA — Attorney General Bob Ferguson has selected eight Assistant Attorneys General to receive the 2015 William V. Tanner Award for outstanding achievements early in their careers. Ferguson established the award in 2013 in honor of the youngest Attorney General in state history.
SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson, joined by eight fellow attorneys general from around the country, today urged the nation's largest credit card issuers to speed up implementation of secure chip and PIN technology. Chip and PIN is widely considered a more secure means of processing credit card transactions than traditional magnetic-stripe payment cards and thus an important safeguard against fraud and identity theft.
On July 22 and 29, 2015, the Attorney General’s Office received letters from members of the State House of Representatives and the State Senate, respectively, requesting that the AGO conduct an investigation of Planned Parenthood. 
SEATTLE — Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced resolution of an investigation into for-profit college company Education Management Corporation (EDMC) for alleged unfair and deceptive business practices. EDMC will significantly reform its recruiting and enrollment practices and provide 1,187 Washington students a total of $1,358,369 in loan forgiveness. Loan forgiveness will apply to qualifying former students of The Art Institute of Seattle and Argosy University’s Seattle campus.
SEATTLE — Following a legal victory in August, Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced a $418,000 judgment has been entered against a student loan debt adjusting company that overcharged Washington state students and collected unlawful fees.

SEATTLE – Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced today that Washington has joined 25 states, cities and counties in filing motions to intervene to support the federal Environmental Protection Agency’s new power plant carbon pollution rules against legal challenge.
SEATTLE — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced six enforcement actions undertaken this year to protect Washington consumers from unlawful debt collection practices.  These cases — three of which have already resulted in favorable resolutions — were filed as part of Operation Collection Protection (OCP), the largest-ever coordination of law enforcement actions to hold unlawful debt collectors accountable for illegal collection practices.  
EVERETT — Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced an agreement with DSB Investments, Inc., the owner of the Glacier View Apartments in Everett, to enforce compliance with the Washington Law Against Discrimination and the Consumer Protection Act.  The agreement, called an Assurance of Discontinuance, was filed in King County Superior Court and is subject to the court’s approval.
