Attorney General Bob Ferguson today announced the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) has agreed to disclose the financing of its campaign to oppose Initiative 522. The agreement eliminates the need to seek court intervention to compel such disclosure. The GMA agreed to file reports with the Public Disclosure Commission and produce information related to its members’ contributions by close of business Friday, Oct. 18.

Ferguson alleges the GMA illegally collected and spent more than $7 million while shielding the identity of its contributors. The funds were spent to express opposition to Initiative 522, a measure requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods, seeds and seed products in Washington.

Morgan Eugene  Christensen pled guilty to second degree murder with a deadly weapon and first degree burglary Friday in Ferry County Superior Court. Christensen broke into the home of his mother and stepfather in October 2012 then beat his stepfather with a tire iron and strangled him to death... Washington State Assistant Attorneys General Tienney Milnor and John Hillman prosecuted the case at the request of Ferry County.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson joined attorneys general from 46 states and the District of Columbia in announcing today a multimillion-dollar settlement with Connecticut-based Affinion, and its subsidiaries Trilegiant and Webloyalty.
