December 31, 1996--Attorney General Christine Gregoire and state and federal recovery agencies are warning storm-stricken Washington residents not to fall victim to scams while repairing and recovering from the recent storms.
SEATTLE - December 19, 1996---Mazda Motor of America, Inc. today agreed to reform its national auto leasing advertisements and pay $857,500 to Washington and 23 other states.
SEATTLE - December 5, 1996 - Telemark, Inc., a Portland-based telemarketing firm, operating extensively in Washington, agreed today to pay $316,000 in fines and fees to settle a lawsuit for deceiving customers, failing to provide services to clients and falsifying polling results.
SEATTLE - State Attorney General Christine Gregoire signed a letter of agreement today with America Online, an online service provider headquartered in Virginia, resolving allegations that AOL had violated Washington's Consumer Protection Act in marketing their new pricing and service plan.

November 13, 1996 - OLYMPIA - State Attorney General Christine Gregoire plans to appeal Wednesday's Thurston County Superior Court ruling which rejects a major part of the state's case against three O.K. Boys Ranch administrators charged with multiple counts of second-degree criminal mistreatment of children.
SEATTLE -- One of the never ending contests to win a brand-new "black" truck displayed in malls, fairs, and recreational shows, came to an end yesterday with a lawsuit filed by the Attorney General's Office.
