OLYMPIA - A Vancouver-area attorney was sentenced in Clark County Superior Court for his attempted assault of two people with a deadly weapon.

Paul Lloyd Henderson pled guilty in August to two counts of attempted assault in the second degree, which is a Class C felony. His sentence includes 10 months in jail (with eligibility for work release), restitution to the victim in the amount of $3,953.60, a crime victim compensation assessment and court costs in the amount of $610, and a one-year probationary period upon his release from jail. Henderson was also ordered to pay $450 per month to cover the cost of his incarceration. He is also to have no contact with the victims and must participate in alcohol and mental health treatment. His sentence was handed down by Judge James D. Ladley

On January 3, Henderson, a 49-year-old resident of Ridgefield, WA, unlawfully entered the residence of Teresa L. Rider. He attempted to assault Rider and her visitor, Glenn M. Kotara, while armed with a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

The investigation was conducted by the Clark County Sheriff's Office, and was referred to the Attorney General's Office for prosecution at the request of the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney.
