SPOKANE – The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) announced today that Dea Ann Wagner, 55, of Spokane, has pled guilty to First Degree Theft, Second Degree Theft and five counts of Medicaid False Statement in Spokane County for billing for care not provided to multiple recipients.
The Attorney General’s Office alleged that Wagner charged full-time hours when only partial days were worked and falsely claimed specific chores were performed.
Wagner was sentenced to 30 days in jail converted to 240 hours of community restitution, 12 months of community custody, $500 in legal costs and restitution in the amount of $16,575.
The MFCU prosecution team consists of Assistant Attorney General Dannette Allen, investigator Larry Carlier and legal assistant Margo Loree.
