SPOKANE — The Attorney General’s Office filed charges today against a 76-year-old Spokane man accused of rape.
Robert Caruso is charged in Spokane County Superior Court with second-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment. The court issued a warrant for his arrest.
The local attorney is accused of raping and restraining a 22-year-old woman in September of this year.
The charges are only allegations. A person is presumed innocent unless and until he or she is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case at the request of the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutors are Assistant Attorneys General Tienney Milnor and John Hillman.
