"Norm has been a friend, mentor and inspiration to me throughout my nearly twenty years as an attorney and during all my years as an elected official. I worked closely with Norm while serving on the King County Council and he chaired my transition committee as I prepared to take office as Attorney General in late 2004. His loss is stunning and devastating to me and, I am sure, to the thousands of attorneys and law enforcement officials that he has mentored and encouraged during his long and distinguished career as Prosecuting Attorney. My heart goes out to his wonderful wife, Judy, and their son, Mark, as well as to the men and women of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office."
