Other LanguagesApril 25, 1997 - Spokane - Larry Briney, an attorney with more than 15 years of experience in complex legal issues including juvenile dependencies, adoptions, civil service/labor law and parole revocation, has been named to oversee the Spokane division of the Attorney General's Office.
Briney will begin his new duties as division chief on May 16.
This position is responsible for overseeing legal representation to seven divisions in the Spokane office, including Labor and Industries, Labor and Personnel, Licensing and Employment Security, Social and Health Services, Torts, Education and Consumer Protection.
"When I select members of my Management Team, I look for management ability, commitment to the profession and values of the Attorney General's Office, involvement in the community, and a diversity of experience," said Attorney General Christine Gregoire. "Larry Briney brings all of these qualities to his new position as division chief for the Spokane office."
A graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, Briney joined the Attorney General's Office in 1981 and currently serves as the Section Chief for the Social and Health Services Division in Spokane. Prior to joining the AG's Office, Briney was a deputy prosecutor in Spokane County.
Briney's professional activities and public service include work on child protection issues. He currently serves on the Child Protection Team at the East Side Community Center and Central Valley School District. He also serves on the Steering Committee for the Regional Center For Child Abuse and Neglect at Deaconess Medical Center.
