OLYMPIA – Attorney General Rob McKenna and other leaders in Washington’s legal community will hold a media availability on Friday, July 22, 2005, to comment on the nomination and confirmation process of Judge John Roberts, Jr. for the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court, and how his nomination could impact Washington state.
Joining McKenna to answer questions from the media will be Ron Ward, President of the Washington State Bar Association, King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng, former U.S. Senator Slade Gorton, former Washington State Supreme Court Justice Faith Ireland and former U.S. Attorney Mike McKay.
The media availability will begin at 1 p.m. at the Attorney General's downtown Seattle office, 900--4th Ave., Room 2430.
