Other LanguagesELLENSBURG – The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) Friday charged Shellene D. Smith with Medicaid fraud. Two counts of First Degree Theft and seven counts of Medicaid False Statement were filed in Kittitas County Court.
According to charging documents, Smith knowingly received Medicaid payments and services for which she was legally ineligible. According to the AG’s Office, Smith illegally received over $29,000 in Medicaid payments and more than $24,000 in medical assistance.
The MFCU prosecution team consists of Assistant Attorney General Dannette Allen, investigator Amy Rose and legal assistant Margo Loree.
Arraignment is scheduled for May 10, 2010 in Kittitas County Superior Court.
