Other LanguagesIn conjunction with iKeepSafe, Comcast is bringing the “Faux Paw the Techno Cat®” Internet safety program to Spiritridge Elementary School on June 12th. Students will participate in a special program with Attorney General McKenna, hosted by iKeepSafe and Comcast, to learn how to have a safe and healthy experience with connected technology.
Event highlights include:
- iKeepSafe and Comcast honoring Attorney General McKenna with the Internet Keep Safe Award for his notable efforts in keeping children safe and healthy online.
- Students hearing the story of Faux Paw the Techno Cat, the curious, Web-surfing cat who teaches kids how to keep safe online. The Faux Paw™ costume character will be on hand to bring the story to life for students. The “Faux Paw the Techno Cat” Internet Safety Program teaches kids and parents the “3 Keeps” of Internet safety, how to: keep your personal information safe, avoid cyber-bullies and balance the time spent on-and-offline. The accompanying curriculum was created in partnership with Penn State’s Dept. of Education, a global team of educators and iKeepSafe.
- Interactive Q&A exploring the role the Internet plays in students’ school and family lives. Topics include cyber-bullying, social networking sites, Internet addictive disorder and warning signs to watch out for while your children are online.
