Russell Investment Group, Western Wireless and Microsoft among speakers at Dec. 1 conference in Seattle for business leaders and attorneys
SEATTLE – Businesses can learn how to better meet the challenges of corporate social responsibility this Thursday during the Responsible Corporate Leadership in Washington State conference in Seattle. Presenters include Attorney General Rob McKenna and executives from Russell Investment Group, Western Wireless Corporation, Microsoft, Washington Mutual, Itron, and more.
The conference is sponsored by the state Attorney General’s Office and brings together experts in law, government and corporate leadership. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Westin Hotel, 1900 Fifth Ave., Seattle.
“Businesses that do the right thing find success on many levels,” McKenna said. “Companies that uphold a set of values are rewarded with loyal customers, motivated employees, and satisfied investors.
“This conference aims to assist businesses in understanding responsible corporate leadership so that ethical behavior in the workplace is the norm,” McKenna continued. “We want to create an environment in Washington where businesses continue to thrive and consumers benefit from a fair marketplace.”
Speakers will share information on critical current changes impacting public and privately held companies, the challenges of financial disclosures and effective corporate ethics. They will also discuss enterprise risk, complying with new government regulations and building a fraud prevention culture.
