Hate Crimes and Bias Incidents Hotline Advisory Committee
Pursuant to Substitute Senate Bill 5427 and codified at 43.10.305, the Attorney General’s Office convenes the Advisory Committee to provide advice and assistance regarding the hotline’s design, operation, outreach, service delivery objectives and priorities, and funding.

Hate Crimes and Bias Incidents Hotline Advisory Committee Meeting
Regular meetings of the Advisory Committee shall be held at least bi-monthly. Staff will endeavor to post agendas and meeting materials for the Advisory Committee up to 4 business days before each meeting. Materials will be posted no later than 24 hours before each meeting. Public Comment
The Hate Crimes & Bias Incidents Hotline Advisory Committee welcomes both written and verbal public comments on items that appear on Hate Crimes & Bias Incidents Hotline Advisory Committee agendas. Registration for public comment opens after the Advisory Committee meeting agendas have been posted online to the AGO Task Forces website. Registration for members of the public will close 5pm the evening before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Register here for both written and verbal public comment.
Those who register for verbal testimony will be provided up to two minutes to give public comment to items listed on the meeting agenda. Depending on the number of people registered, verbal testimony may be shortened to accommodate all who registered during the time allotted on the agenda. Written comments received by 5pm the evening before the meeting will be distributed to Advisory Committee members.
If you wish to request accessibility accommodations, please do so as soon as possible. Every effort will be made to accommodate each request. Please reach out to the AGO Anti-Hate Policy Team, at anti-hate@atg.wa.gov.

- Written comments received by 5pm the evening before the meeting will be distributed to Advisory Committee members.
Verbal Comments
Remote Public Comment
- Sign up using the registration form. Registration will close by 5pm the evening before the meeting. Registration is required in order for members of the public to make a remote public comment. Please note, all information entered into the form is subject to public disclosure.
- Please register with your name and the phone number you may be calling from, to ensure you are recognized by staff during the meeting. This will ensure that you are able to provide comment.
- Join the webinar link or call in at least 5 minutes before the scheduled public comment period.
- Once you have joined the meeting, you will be able to adjust your microphone and speaker by clicking the upward arrow (^) next to Audio Settings. The Audio Settings button is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
- When it is your turn to testify, staff will call your name. At this time, your webinar settings will be transitioned so that you will be given permission to speak.
- Once your settings have been modified, audio controls will display in the lower left corner. Click Unmute to begin speaking to the Advisory Committee. Remember to state your name, organization, and your comments on items that appear on the meeting’s agenda.
- After you have concluded your remarks, your settings will be modified, and you will no longer be able to speak. When you wish to disconnect from the meeting, click the red Leave button located in the lower right corner of your screen. If you remain on Zoom for the remainder of the meeting, you will be automatically disconnected once the meeting adjourns.
In-Person Public Comment

- Join the meeting in-person at least 10 minutes before the scheduled public comment period. In-person meeting details will be posted on the Advisory Committee website with the agenda.
- When it is your turn, staff will call your name.
Per the state's public records act, please be aware that all correspondence submitted to the Attorney General's Office will become public record, and that under state law, public records are subject to public disclosure requests, and may be seen by other people.
