MoneyGram 1 (:11)  “Well, thanks to today’s agreement with MoneyGram, fraudulent telemarketers are going to have a much tougher time tricking consumers into sending cash to scam artists using wire transfer services.”

ACCORDING TO MCKENNA, MORE AND MORE CRIMINALS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CONSUMERS USING SERVICES LIKE MONEYGRAM TO TRICK CONSUMERS INTO SENDING MONEY.

McKenna:

MoneyGram 2 (:09) “Wire transfer scams are one of the fastest growing forms of fraud today. The initial pitch can take many forms but they all end with the con disappearing with your money.”

THE AGREEMENT SAYS THAT MONEYGRAM WILL PAY OVER A MILLION DOLLARS TO FUND A NATIONAL AWARENESS PROGRAM. THE COMPANY ALSO AGREES TO PRINT A WARNING ON FORMS USED TO SEND MONEY AND TO PROVIDE ENHANCED TRAINING TO BRANCH AGENTS.

McKenna:

MoneyGram 3 (:13) “We need to make it tougher for scammers to use traditional methods of transferring money when they rip off consumers. Agreements like the one we reached with Western Union and now MoneyGram help reduce fraud-induced transfers by teaching everyone how to recognize these schemes.”
