Accessible public information is the most effective weapon in our fight to free our market from unfair and deceptive business practices. In our attempt to increase consumer awareness, the Attorney General’s Office has created an assortment of informational services to meet the needs of our diverse audience.
We strive to provide the most accurate information, in the most convenient formats, to Washington’s businesses and consumers. Traditional news releases, alerts, blogs, tweets, brochures, and special training opportunities all take center stage in our efforts to improve Washington’s economy.
Those interested can receive press releases from the Attorney General's Office in real time by signing up for our AG-McKenna-News List. Press releases, along with a list of media contacts, are also available on the our main News page.
For those more engaged in social and modern media, we have a host of options! You can now follow us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and through RSS Feeds. The office also maintains two informational and insightful blogs related to consumer protection issues. The All Consuming Blog provides information regarding your rights and responsibilities as a consumer so that you can avoid common scams and learn to identify unfair business practices. Attorney General Rob McKenna periodically will comment on emerging issues in consumer protection on his "Ask the AG" Column.
Many of you have signed up to receive notification when we learn of new scams or schemes that could affect Washington residents. If you haven't registered for this service and are interested in receiving Consumer Alerts please register here.
Because the office hosts, or participates in, a variety of educational, informational, and service events, we have also started a statewide Calendar of Events. The calendar also contains a list of community shred events. Special programs and informational resources provided by the office are described in detail on our Special Programs page.
As you can see, there's something here for everyone! We invite you to click on any one of the options provided to get up to the minute news from Attorney General McKenna and our Consumer Protection specialists.
