CIVIL SERVICE LAW ‑- COVERAGE OF STATE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE OFFICERS OF POLITICAL ORGANIZATIONS State employees not covered by the Federal "Hatch Act" may be officers of organizations such as the Young Democrats, Young Republicans, etc., without violating the provisions of the state civil service law; but may not participate in the management of a partisan campaign.
