Swine flu for your computer!

Swine flu for your computer!

(Scams) Permanent link

virusAn email asking state employees to register for a swine flu vaccination program is hogwash. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention alerted government employees of a bogus message that references a CDC-sponsored state H1N1 vaccination program and instructs the reader to create a “personal Vaccination Profile.” Clicking on the embedded link causes a malicious code to be installed on your computer.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of a swine flu virus for your PC. Back in May, All Consuming warned you about a potential computer virus epidemic, phishing attacks and bogus prevention products.

The CDC publishes a list of health-related hoaxes and rumors.
